The Conseil d’État at the 15th Congress of the IASAJ in Santiago

From the 2nd to the 4th of April 2025, a delegation of the Conseil d’État led by Mrs. Martine de Boisdeffre, President of the Studies, Research and Cooperation Section, participated in the 15th triennial Congress of the International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions (IASAJ) organized in Santiago, Chile by the Supreme Court of Chile that has presided the Association since 2022. The main theme of the event was: General interest, the administration and the judge.

Over three days, participants discussed the determination of the judge competent to control the administration and guarantee the preservation of general interest, the definition of general interest and finally, the control of administrative courts over general interest objectives.


The Association's Board of Directors seized this opportunity to meet and a General Assembly was also held.


The Congress was opened by Mrs. the Minister Adelita Ravanales, President of the 3rd Chamber of the Supreme Court of Chile, Mrs. Martine de Boisdeffre, Secretary General of the IASAJ, Mr. Ricardo Blanco, President of the Supreme Court of Chile and Mr. Álvaro Elizalde, Vice-President of the Republic of Chile. The Congress was concluded by the President of Chile’s Supreme Court.


At the end of the Congress, the Supreme Court of Spain was elected President of the Association. It will thus be responsible for organizing the next Congress, scheduled to take place in Madrid in 2028.  


The International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions (IASAJ) is an association established under French law in 1983, and headquartered at the Conseil d’État. Bringing together the supreme administrative jurisdictions of 66 countries, its mission is to promote the exchange of ideas and experience between these jurisdictions.
