On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Vice President of the Council of State, Didier-Roland Tabuteau, received a delegation from the Egyptian Council of State led by its President, Osama Youssef Shalaby.
This meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the ties between the two institutions*, which perform similar functions. Following the meeting, an amendment extending the 2016 cooperation agreement between the French and Egyptian administrative courts was signed.
* Established in 1948, the Egyptian Council of State is heavily modeled on the French system. This is also true of the Egyptian administrative litigation system, which draws heavily on French law.
