On January 19, 2024, Didier-Roland Tabuteau, Vice-President of the Conseil d'État, received a delegation from the Administrative Court and the Conseil d'État of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, led by the presidents of these two institutions, Francis Delaporte and Christophe Schiltz.
Discussions focused on subjects of common interest, providing an opportunity to take a closer look at the practices of each jurisdiction. These included: the question of acts of government and the drafting of opinions by the Conseil d'Etat, and the Procola ruling by the European Court of Human Rights and its repercussions in both Luxembourg and France.
The Cour administrative of Luxembourg, created in 1996, took over the litigation jurisdiction previously held by the Conseil d'État. It has thus become the supreme administrative court of Luxembourg. Founded in 1856, the Conseil d'État is now the Grand Duchy's consultative organ.
