On July 22 to 23, 2021, the Conseil d’Etat hosted the Federal Administrative Court of Germany, led by its President, Mr. Klaus Rennert. This meeting was an opportunity to discuss common topics such as the role of the administrative judge during the pandemic or environmental litigation.

This meeting between the Conseil d’Etat and its German counterpart is part of a long-standing cooperation - the last one took place in Leipzig in 2019. It allows the two institutions to discuss their practices, share about common issues.

This year, four thematic round tables were organized around the following topics:
> Orality in administrative litigation.
> The role of the administrative judge during the pandemic.
> Environmental litigation and the challenges of global warming for the administrative judge.
> Mediation in administrative justice.

These regular seminars foster exchange and dialogue between both institutions and allow the practices of French and German administrative judges to be put into perspective.
